We welcome Nicholas Botterman as the 2024 Spring Green Musician in Residence Sept. 8-Sept. 21. The residency review panel described the Wisconsin-based lead singer and drummer of Traveling Suitcase as having an addictive sound, engaging and having layers of creativity. The band's blues and funk influences can be heard in their indie rock sound. Nicholas is known for putting on a killer live show and we hear the Traveling Suitcase merch table is always worth a visit.

This is the seventh year of the Musician in Residence program thanks to private donations, grants and support from The Shitty Barn. This year funding includes a grant from Sauk County Extension Education Arts and Culture Committee, a Committee of the Sauk County Board of Supervisors and the Wisconsin Arts Board.

The residency's goal is to provide creative space for a musician to songwrite, perform and collaborate. Nicholas Botterman will enjoy two weeks in Spring Green, allowing him unique time and space to spend with his craft. Collaborative sessions with local artists will provide a space for  creative inspiration new works..

The Spring Green Musician in Residence features several free events throughout the two weeks. The schedule will be announced in summer 2024.
